Seven Moons Red Blend- 2016

$15-$30, Red Blend

Gothic Score

Down the hatch we go, I hope you’re enjoying this as much as my AA sponsor. Tonight I’m gathered to drink this curious wine, a Seven Moons 2016 Red Blend. It has gothic wine potential, but we’ll see just how dark and dreary it is under the cork.

The cork itself is black, definitely a good sign there. On the side of said cork it’s revealed the words… “Trust your instincts, make your next move with confidence”… well ok then, my instinct is to finish this bottle, and I have plenty of confidence in that department. I like the design of the bottle, it’s very witchy and who doesn’t love a good *full moon* after a bottle of vino.

Time to drink this witch.

It’s not bad, but all too sweet an fruity for my taste. I could see this going well with dark chocolate (only dark though..) or other fine dessert. It’s easy to drink but I find it lacks bite. Perhaps a bit stronger in alcohol content and it would balance out better. I could see this being an good & versatile wine to bring to a friends house, if I had any.

I think I’ll finish the bottle just to be positive, but I’m not sure I’d get this wine again. It’s good on the surface, but not very goth under the hood. Thanks for nothing, and goodnight -The Dark Wino
